Hello Trojan!

The Troy University Trojan Tour '14 is starting in Troy this year and we want to give them a great sendoff. The event begins at 5:30p.m. in the Stadium club and we would like to invite your to attend. If you are able to come please let Heath know by email at pikecounty@alumni.troy.edu. This event is open to the public so forward the flyer and let your friends that we would love to have them there.

Troy University head coaches and athletic administrators will be hitting the road this summer for a week-long trek (June 19-27) across the Southeast for Trojan Tour '14. The second Trojan Tour will feature 11 stops over nine days in three states. Featured guests on Trojan Tour '14 will include Athletic Director John Hartwell, football head coach Larry Blakeney, baseball head coach Bobby Pierce, men's basketball head coach Phil Cunningham and women's basketball head coach Chanda Rigby. Admission to all lunch events is $10 and admission to all dinner events is $20. Price includes admission into the event, meal and a Troy Athletics gift bag. All children age 12 and under are admitted free of charge. The chapter may be able to help Pike County Chapter Members with tickets in some form. I will email as soon as I know more.

Help grow our membership. Encourage people to join. I have an application that I can email you or send to a prospective member.

     I hope this finds you in good spirits and looking forward to a great 2014! My name is Heath DeRamus and I am the Pike County Alumni Chapter President. I am 1 of 6 family members that graduated from Troy University. The chapter and I are always looking for new and innovative opportunities to get involved, network and reunite with fellow Troy University Alumni, friends, students and parents. We would love for you to join us again and get involved. If you are interested in helping out with planning events or simply sharing ideas, please contact us at pikecounty@alumni.troy.edu. I could definitely use your ideas and help! I am looking forward to having you join the Pike County Chapter and with your membership to share in the upcoming chapter events.
     Communication is key to the chapter success.      One of the biggest commitments our officers have worked on is our scholarship for a current Charles Henderson High School and Pike Liberal Arts senior from Pike County that has been accepted to Troy University. We are looking to the future to have an endowed scholarship, but we are awarding scholarships with chapter funds. Our scholarship winners for 2013 were Hasonni Roberson (CHHS), Stephanie Spivey (Pike Lib) and Brantley LeCroy (CHHS) they all received $500 and the goal of the chapter in 2014 is to present $1,000 based on funds available.
     Joining the Troy University Pike County Alumni Chapter is a great way to become involved in alumni affairs and to support the University from here in Pike County. A single membership is $30, and a joint membership is $45. Membership is open to all alumni, friends, fans, spouses, parents of Troy Students and corporate or business entities. Association dues help practically every area of the university -- from student scholarships to faculty awards to athletics. Chapter members receive special discounts at Alamo, Avis, Budget, Hertz, Choice Hotel Int’l, online benefits program www.mysavingsconnection.com, Liberty Mutual Insurance, free admission to most tailgate tent events, alumni e-mail forwarding address, 20% Off at the Troy Campus Barnes and Nobles store (http://troy.bncollege.com) and enjoy the Alumni Magazine. We are currently working with local business to obtain other discounts.
